LouLou: proof that a diagnosis does not diminish worth
LouLou was originally adopted back in 2022 and recently returned to rescue through absolutely no fault of her own. Shortly before returning, she was diagnosed with diabetes and that was why she came back to us. We managed her return from across the U.S. through the help if amazing volunteers. And while diabetes can sound intimidating, LouLou would like everyone to know she is currently thriving.
Seriously. THRIVING.
This fluffy queen is doing amazing on oral medication and a diabetic-friendly diet. No dramatic lifestyle. No daily chaos. Just a gorgeous cat living her best pampered indoor life while pretending she doesn’t know she’s medically special.
LouLou is affectionate, sweet, and still very much the same cat she has always been. She loves attention, enjoys lounging up high supervising the household peasants, and has settled beautifully back into foster care.
Her résumé now includes:
Gorgeous long-haired princess energy
Professional perch observer
Friendly and affectionate
Compatible with other pets and children
Takes her meds like a champ
Tiny pancreas with a flair for drama
Diabetic cats deserve homes too. Their lives are not “less than.” Their futures are not hopeless. In LouLou’s case, her condition is being managed beautifully and she is feeling fantastic.
What LouLou needs now is someone willing to see beyond the label and recognize the incredible companion underneath all that fluff.
Because honestly? She deserves stability, love, and a forever family just as much as any other cat.
