LOCAL CAT, Morgan - Domestic Long Hair and Maine Coon Cat for Adoption in Scituate, Rhode Island

MAGICAL, MYTHICAL AND MAGNIFICENT: Lovely lady Morgan was surrendered to the shelter in mid-October, after her family came to the conclusion that this beauti-ful and enchanting stray they took in simply did not care to live with their other cats. They gave it a long time for the cats to work things out, but Morgan was not at all happy living in a home with other cats, and keeping them separated was becom-ing a struggle, and also too stressful for all of the cats, Morgan included. So, with heavy hearts, they brought her to the shelter so that she could find a home where she can be a solo star, and never worry about another cat threatening her superi-ority.

She is a very sweet and affectionate cat, loves all people she meets, loves to be pet and kissed, and also carried around for a bit. She’s a little timid at the shelter, due to the presence of other cats, but when it’s just her and a volunteer, she is very happy to be out of her cage, getting as much love and attention as she can soak up. She’s also a calm, quiet lady, preferring to lounge in a tower when she’s not worry-ing about the other cats, or happy to sit in a lap and be held for a little while. She loves to be brushed, so keeping her magnificent coat in prime condition won’t be a challenge.

She’ll make a great companion to humans of all ages, as long as the home will be happy to have just one pet. No other cats, and given her issues with other cats, it’s likely she’ll prefer to live in a home without dogs as well.

Morgan is estimated to be 9 years old, is spayed, box-trained, current on vaccina-tions, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and received de-wormers and flea treatments. Adoption fee is $50. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. resi-dents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to “Town of Scituate.” No cash is accepted.

You can also call the shelter at (401) 647-7200 for more information, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Sat 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Private appointments outside of regular hours can be scheduled — be sure to email clayvillecritters@cox.net to coordinate an after-hours appointment.
