Meet Apricot — Learning That Home Is a Beautiful Place

Apricot is a gorgeous long-haired buff-colored girl, around 1-2 years old, whose journey to indoor life has been a long time coming.

Apricot spent her entire life surviving on the streets, cared for from a distance by a dedicated feeder. When help was requested to get her spayed through TNR, we tried again and again to target her—but Apricot had an incredible talent for disappearing every single time trapping day rolled around!

Then one day, she showed back up... with one tiny baby by her side.
There was no waiting this time. Apricot and her little one, Butterball (M), were brought safely into foster care, and we finally had the opportunity to learn who Apricot really was underneath all those years of street survival.

We werent sure whether a cat who had spent her entire life outdoors would ever want to be someones pet. Apricot answered that question for us.

She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving. She has settled into the comforts of indoor life beautifully and is discovering that soft beds, regular meals, and kind humans arent so bad after all! Shes a quiet girl who is perfectly content spending much of her day lounging and enjoying the peace and safety she never had outside.

Because the world has been a scary place for most of her life, Apricot needs a home that understands her. Dogs frighten her, and young children are overwhelming, so her perfect home will be calm, quiet, and predictable. She would likely be happiest as an only pet, where she can soak up all the love without having to compete with a busy household.

Apricot isnt looking for someone to rush her. Shes looking for a patient adopter who will let her continue blossoming at her own pace and show her just how wonderful life as a beloved indoor cat can be.

Apricot will be spayed once her milk has dried up after nursing her baby and shes ready medically. Then this former street girl will officially be ready for the next chapter—the one where she never has to survive outside again.
