Dawn - Domestic Long Hair Cat for Adoption in Herrin, Illinois

Dawn's story took a few unexpected turns before she became a Thistle Cat.

She was found by a concerned community member very pregnant. We originally agreed to take Dawn in and return her to her owner, who needed some assistance with veterinary care. But Dawn had other plans and gave birth before her scheduled vet appointment.

Safe in Thistle Cat care, tucked underneath a bedroom bed, Dawn welcomed three nearly identical black-and-white baby boys. She was an incredible mom from the very beginning, attentive, patient, and completely devoted to her babies.

Once her boys were grown and ready to begin lives of their own, Dawn was supposed to return home. Tragically, the person who had brought her to us unexpectedly passed away. With the family grieving and unable to take Dawn back, we offered to officially welcome her into Thistle Cat and find her the forever home she deserves.

Dawn is a gorgeous long-haired black beauty who loves being near her people. She asks for affection with the sweetest little chirping voice, absolutely loves being brushed, and has made it very clear that her catnip rainbow is the greatest toy ever invented.

She also loves spending time in the catio, stretching out in the sunshine and watching the world go by.

Dawn spent so much of her time with us lovingly caring for her three little boys. Now it's finally her turn to be the baby.

She deserves a forever home where she can soak up the attention, affection, sunny naps, and love she gave so freely to her kittens.
