Buttercup - Calico Cat for Adoption in Irvine, California

Buttercup is such an adorable little girl who just loves napping and playing with her mom, Butterscotch! She has a wonderful, curious spirit and loves to explore, even when she's still deciding whether to stay close or run for cover when humans are around. It is so sweet to watch her slowly conquer her fears and grow braver with each passing day. She feels most comfortable and approachable in her favorite safe spots, like her cozy cat bed or window perch. She is also very food-motivated and will happily make friends for some yummy Churu or other cat treats! If you sit quietly in her space, she will often wander over to say hello.

While she isn't quite ready to be held just yet, she shows so much wonderful potential to get there. Buttercup is bonded with her mom, Butterscotch, and we would like to see them adopted together.

Please come see Buttercup and the other cats that are available at the PetSmart store in The District Shopping Center in Tustin (2237 Park Avenue). Adoptions are by appointment and on Saturdays from 1-4pm.

When you choose to adopt one of OCARC's animals, the adoption donation is $200 (kittens 6 months and younger) or $175 (all kittens and cats over 6 months of age). Each of our cats and kittens has been:

- Microchipped
- Spayed or neutered
- Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia)
- Tested for FIV (Feline Aids)
- De-flead (topical Revolution or Advantage)
- De-wormed (tape and round worms)
- Given their first FVRCP vaccination:

We keep all our kitties current on their FVRCP vaccines so depending on the age of the kitty when you adopt him or her and how long we've had the kitty, the vaccine series may be complete. If not, you as the adopter will be responsible for any further vaccinations in the series.

- Rabies Vaccination when age appropriate

These services would usually cost more than $500. Of course, a greater adoption donation is always welcome, since we often provide additional medical care such as x-rays, blood panels, treatment for ears, eyes, upper respiratory infections and viruses.

The Calico cat is known for its unique tri color coat pattern of white, orange, and black. These cats are almost always female due to their genetics, with their striking coats often displaying a patchwork appearance. Calicos are not a specific breed but rather a color pattern found in various breeds, including American Shorthair and Persian. They are typically lively, affectionate, and confident felines, making them popular and charming companions in many households.
