Meet Iza! This little calico girl may be small, but she's got a BIG personality! She's friendly, confident, and definitely not one to sit on the sidelines. Iza loves people and isn't shy about making new friends. She's got all the playful kitten energy you'd expect, but eventually even this little dynamo runs out of steam and crashes for a well-deserved nap!

Iza comes from a pretty special family. Her mama, Ayla, and all ten kittens were named after characters from The Clan of the Cave Bear, a favorite childhood book of the kind person who helped save them. In the book, Ayla is a strong, independent, and resilient young girl who overcomes tremendous adversity. It turns out the name was quite fitting for this real-life mama, too!

Ayla spent over a year surviving outdoors, cared for by kind neighbors who made sure she had food. After having one litter of kittens, she became pregnant again when her babies were only three weeks old. Thankfully, those wonderful neighbors reached out for help, and Ayla was safely brought into foster care just TWO days before giving birth to TEN kittens!

With ten hungry mouths to feed, mama Ayla needed a little help, so her foster family supplemented the babies with kitten milk replacer. That meant Iza and her siblings were handled, cuddled, and loved by people from the very beginning. And boy, does it show! These kittens are exceptionally social and comfortable around humans.

Having grown up in a family of ten, Iza is very comfortable around other cats and would love a home with one of her siblings or another young, playful kitty to be her best friend.

Iza is ready to trade her humble beginnings for a lifetime of cozy naps, playtime, and unconditional love. Could this little calico dynamo be your new best friend?
