American Shorthair Cats Available for Adoption in New York, New York

Phantom was first spotted in Bedstuy in December, tail degloved, looking absolutely terrified. By the time we were finally able to trap him in March, he had, against all odds, survived all the brutal blizzards alone and in pain. Those days are over. After a full tail amputation and a few weeks of R&R, he is ready to start the next chapter of his life--warm, loved, and pain-free.

Phantom, aka Nubby, is a total lovebug. He wants to be pet and kissed all over all day. He's chatty and playful, but when the day's done, he just wants a warm loving bed to curl up in. He's a purring machine, a biscuit-making champ, a total Churu fanatic, and he goes crazy for a feather toy. He would be best as a solo cat, as he wants to be the center of your world, your main guy, your favorite void with eyes. If you've ever wanted a mythical maybe-cat-maybe-bunny-gorilla-hybrid to curl up with at night, you've found your guy.

Phantom is approx. 5 years old, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and fully vaxxed and vetted. He's a very gentle boy and he loves HARD. How he ended up on the streets in the condition we found him, we'll never know. What we do know is that he wont have to be outside, scared and in pain, ever again. He is loving having a soft warm bed and he cannot wait to have a space to roam freely and a good perch to call his own. He is a very, very special boy and whoever gets to love him is a very lucky person indeed!
