Boogie - American Shorthair Cat for Adoption in New York, New York

Boogie showed up on a stoop in Bed-Stuy very sick, struggling & in serious need of help. Thankfully, someone noticed him & brought him to ACC which sadly had no way to treat him and placed him on the AT RISK list. And then we pulled him to safety.

Boogie underwent an aggressive treatment for his cold, and turned out to have a polyp! Once the polyp was surgically removed Boogie has become a new cat! His vet and his fosters found him absolutely THE sweetest. He is also very handsome and unique in his perfect Phantom of the Opera mask!

Now we’re seeing who he really is. His foster says he’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, gentle & chatty. He comes running when called & answers when spoken to. He follows his humans. Now that he feels better, his playful side is emerging, including a newfound fascination with the laser pointer.

After spending so much of foster care sick & low-energy, we suspect more Boogie personality is waiting to emerge. But we know this approximately 3-5-year-old boy ADORES human companionship. His foster says he “only has a soft side” & thinks his person should be someone who appreciates a devoted little companion... and doesn’t mind a cat with something to say.

Boogie came frighteningly close to never getting this chance. Instead, thanks to his finder, foster, veterinary team & everyone who graciously donated toward his care, he gets to start the next part of his life healthy, loved & ready for a home of his own.

Tested, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped.

All cats and kittens are rescued from the streets, abandoned, or pulled from at-risk list at city shelter. All are vaccinated, tested for FIV and FELV, dewormed, and spayed/neutered (if old enough).
