"Wait... did someone say snacks?" — Quartz

Quartz came to safety after a resident posted about a white pigeon living in a barn in Elburn, Illinois. A volunteer reached out, concerned that feral cats might get him, and Quartz was soon brought into our care.
This charming little pigeon is bright white with a dark black beak and a permanently surprised expression. With his wide eyes and curious head tilts, Quartz always looks like he's just heard the most shocking piece of gossip.
As he's settled in, Quartz has become comfortable around people and enjoys sitting nearby to supervise daily activities. He loves taking baths, carefully preening his snowy feathers afterward, and for reasons known only to Quartz, he also enjoys sitting directly in his food bowl as if it were the most comfortable chair in the world.
Sweet, curious, and delightfully goofy, Quartz may not always understand what's happening—but he definitely wants to be included in it, hopefully in his forever home!
