Recognizable by their intricate shell patterns in shades of brown and yellow, Eastern Box turtles are known for their unique ability to completely close their shell, offering protection from predators. These omnivorous turtles enjoy a varied diet of fruits, vegetables, insects, and small vertebrates, and are known to live for several decades in the wild with proper care and habitat.
