DESCRIPTION
Let’s talk about Buttcheeks.
Not yours. Not mine. The bunny.
Several months ago, we learned about 2 dumped rabbits surviving in a very rural area. We were able to catch the more severely injured one fairly quickly, but the second rabbit kept disappearing onto a property surrounded by tall fences and enough “No Trespassing” signs to make things extremely difficult.
We tried anyway.
For weeks.
But eventually, with no sightings and no safe way to continue searching, we had to step back. We left our number with a nearby neighbor just in case she ever spotted him again.
Well…she did us one better.
She CAUGHT him.
And thank goodness she did, because poor Buttcheeks arrived covered in ticks to the point of near-anemia. He was exhausted.
But now? Fully vetted. Safe indoors. No ticks. Full belly. Soft bed. Living the good life.
And apparently also reading the comments section.
His foster mom shared:
“Buttcheeks wants to clear something up - it was a GIRL that named him, not a boy. He read so many comments on his first post that said ‘of course a 10 yr old boy would name him that’. The girl who named him has been helping him trust people, she has been feeding him, cleaning his litterbox and picking off all his ticks!”
That little girl absolutely earned naming rights.
These days, Buttcheeks is soaking up attention like he’s making up for lost time. We think he’d likely do wonderfully with a bondmate too.
From dumped rural stray, to beloved indoor bunny…with one of the best names we’ve ever heard.
We’re very proud of you, Buttcheeks.
