Meet Thunder! Thunder came to SDHRS in September 2026 when his previous owner could no longer care for him and his siblings. This energetic little guy is always ready for an adventure and would thrive in a home with plenty of space to explore, play, and burn off some of that bunny energy! Thunder loves enrichment and keeping himself entertained, so his future family should be prepared to provide plenty of toys, activities, and opportunities to explore. He is also quite the little explorer and has a knack for squeezing into places he probably shouldn't, so a thorough bunny-proofing job will be a must!
Thunder is a social bunny who enjoys interacting with people, but he prefers to make the first move and come to you on his own terms. He isn't particularly fond of being held and would much rather keep all four paws on the ground, but he is manageable to pick up when needed.
If you're looking for a curious, active, and entertaining companion with a big personality, Thunder might just be your guy!

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv
