"He" originally came from Craigslist and had never seen a veterinarian, who might have been able to point out he was, in fact, a she.

Though her previous owner loved her, they unfortunately were not meeting her basic needs .. we are honestly shocked that she survived her living conditions for almost 3 years. From the small wire-bottom crate, kept in the garage to the seed sticks, yogurt-based treats, and pellets she was being fed, everything about her housing and diet were things we warn our fosters and adopters to avoid because of the dangers they pose to rabbits.

It's why we screen our foster and adoptive homes so rigorously. Loving an animal is incredibly important, but love has to be backed up with the knowledge, resources, willingness, and ability to provide appropriate care.

Seraphina is safe in a temporary foster home but she will be looking for a longer-term foster or forever home October 2026.

At approximately 4 years old and unspayed, Seraphina is at risk of reproductive disease and cancer, so we'll be getting her spayed ASAP.
