DESCRIPTION

This seasoned gentleman is Maple. Maple's birthdate is an estimate, but we think he's about 8 years old (in 2026). Maple is a sensitive soul and is not a fan of lots of commotion and new people. But once he's on a routine with people he knows, he's very personable and interactive.

This boy loves food of all kinds, and he's absolutely convinced that all hands must be hiding something tasty. And he's super cute when he begs! He also loves to get out of his pen and go adventuring, and he's easily bribed back home when play time is over - you just have to crinkle a treat bag! He's just about perfect with his litter box as well! Maple loves gentle face pets (once he realizes you don't have a snack for him), and he doesn't mind cats. Maple needs a quieter home without much activity, and due to him sometimes thinking that hands are snacks (sometimes he will mistaken people parts are a snack and will nip), he needs a home without young kids.

A few things to note about our handsome man: Maple is a very special bunny, and he's looking for a home that will let him settle in on his own terms. He will truthfully take two or three weeks to really feel comfortable - until then, he will try to be invisible by flattening out or hiding. He will need time to adjust, and his new home needs to be aware of that - but trust us, once he adjusts, he's a completely different bunny! And treat bribes definitely help!

Maple also has pasteurella. While this is something that's common in bunnies, every bunny reacts differently to it. In Maple's case, he gets flare-ups when he's stressed. The symptoms mostly include sneezing fits, some discharge, and noisy breathing. But the symptoms significantly decrease once he's comfortable and calm. He will still have sneezing episodes, especially when he's excited about food, and he may always have a bit of a crusty face, but it's something that is manageable, and he does not have to be medicated for it at this time. He just needs a low-stress zone, and he'll be a happy, healthy bunny!

We know Maple's old bones don't move quite the way they used to. We know his eyes are a little more cloudy. We know he's a special needs boy that needs a very special home. But we love Maple dearly, and we know there's someone out there looking for the perfect old-man bunny that will love him just as much as we do!

Due to Maple's age and care requirements, we have waived his adoption fee. Adopters must be at least 18 years old.
