Agate & Topaz - Angora Rabbit Rabbit Available for Adoption in Oswego, New York

AGATE & TOPAZ

Angora Rabbit
🇺🇸
Oswego, New York
May 12th
female, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

Agate and Topaz are a bonded pair of Angora rabbits with soft, cloud-like coats and sweet, complementary personalities. These two are looking for a home where they can stay together—because everything is better in pairs, especially fluffy buns.

Topaz is likely the more dominant of the two, quietly keeping things in order, but she’s also a bit more shy and prefers to take her time warming up. Agate, on the other hand, is the curious adventurer—more outgoing, playful, and eager to explore new spaces. She seems a touch younger in spirit, with a bit more bounce and flexibility when it comes to change.

Based on their overall condition and behavior, we estimate both girls are adult rabbits, likely around 2–3 years old.

Their ideal set-up would include room enough for two as they love to be housed together. They routinely care to pee when inside their house, but we don’t think they can be free in a home because they like to chew wood a lot.

Personality & Home Fit
* Bonded pair—must be adopted together
* Sweet, gentle, and enjoy a calm environment
* Agate: curious, playful, more adventurous
* Topaz: shy, observant, quietly in charge
* Would do best with someone patient and consistent

About Angora Rabbits (Important!)

Angoras are higher-maintenance than typical rabbits due to their continuously growing, wool-like coats. Their fur isn’t just soft—it’s serious business.

Caring for Agate and Topaz will require:
* Frequent brushing (several times per week, sometimes daily) to prevent painful matting
* Occasional trimming to keep their coats manageable
* Keeping their environment clean so debris doesn’t get caught in their coats

Think of them as tiny, gentle alpacas with a daily spa routine.

If you’re ready for a pair of soft, charming companions—and you don’t mind a little extra grooming in exchange for all that fluff—Agate and Topaz are ready to hop into your life.

If you are interested in adopting, you can download our Adoption Application at tinyurl.com/oswego-humane-app; OR if you might even consider becoming a temporary foster caregiver, we would be excited (and pay all the bills!). You can email your completed application and any questions to info@oswegohumane.org!
