Some stories begin with heartbreak. Troy's begins with hope.

When Troy and his sister, Bindi, were just two months old, their owner made the difficult decision that she could no longer care for them. With no homes in sight, they were headed to a high-kill shelter where their future was uncertain.

Then an extraordinary person changed everything.

An 80-year-old neighbor simply couldn't stand by and watch two innocent puppies lose their lives. She opened her heart and her home, taking them in while doing everything she could to find them families. When we learned about their story, we knew we had to help. We stepped in to provide their veterinary care, have them neutered and spayed, and bring them to New Hampshire so they could have the opportunity every puppy deserves.

Now six months old, Troy is ready to leave his past behind and begin the best chapter of his life.

Troy is a happy, affectionate boy who greets life with a wagging tail and an eager heart. He's playful without being over-the-top, enjoys making new friends, and is always ready for an adventure. Whether it's hiking a trail, playing in the yard, or curling up beside you after a busy day, Troy is happiest when he's with his people.

Troy is house trained, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is also great with cats, making him an easy addition to many different types of families. Like any young puppy, he'll continue to benefit from positive training and socialization as he grows into an amazing adult companion.

Troy has already beaten the odds once. Now he's searching for the one thing that's always been missing...a family to call his own.
