Toby - Yorkshire Terrier Dog for Adoption

They say you can read a dog’s history in their eyes, but if you look closely at Toby, you will see something much brighter: his future. Toby is a three-year-old, 31-pound Yorkshire Terrier mix rescue who has already lived a lifetime’s worth of chapters. With his wonderfully scruffy, golden-tan coat, alert perked ears, he is the definition of resilient charm. At 31 pounds, Toby is a sturdier, truer companion size than your average Yorkie, meaning there is simply more of him to love. In his short three years, he has faced hardships that would make anyone cautious. He has seen the rougher edges of life and known the uncertainty of a past he cannot speak aloud. Yet, when you look at him, you don't see a dog defeated by his history. You see a survivor who has chosen, against all odds, to keep his heart wide open. Nothing shows his joyful spirit quite like watching him outdoors. Toby absolutely loves the pure freedom of running through the grass, feeling the wind in his scruffy coat as he explores. He is incredibly smart and loyal; he knows his name perfectly and is so connected to his people that he never runs away. He balances a deep love for adventure with a protective, faithful devotion to staying right by your side. Toby is a social, warm-hearted boy who is ready to fit beautifully into a family setting. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and absolutely loves children, making him a fantastic choice for a household looking to add a loving, gentle companion. He is also a quick learner who is eager to please; he is already very close to being fully house-trained, thriving under a steady routine and a little patient guidance. Toby’s eyes hold a profound depth—a gentle, soulful wisdom that only comes from overcoming adversity. He is a beautiful reminder that a rough start doesn't mean a rough finish. Toby has seen a lot of life so far, but he hasn't seen the best part yet. He is just waiting for the right person or family to share his loyal heart with and finally show him what a true forever home feels like.
