Meet Franky!

Franky is a sweet little Yorkie mix who needs one very important thing from his future family: a little patience while he decides you're his person.

When Franky first arrived in his foster home, he was incredibly shy. He hid under the bed, kept his distance, and wasn't interested in being picked up. But give this boy some time, and things start to change.

After just a couple of weeks, Franky now gets excited when his foster dad comes home, runs around the house, and happily settles at his feet. As he's gotten more comfortable, more of his personality has started to come out-and it's been really sweet watching him learn that he's safe.

Franky still isn't a fan of being picked up and prefers to approach affection on his own terms. He's also much more comfortable going outside when his people come with him. Treats are another work in progress: he won't take them from your hand, but break them into tiny pieces and leave them nearby and, somehow, they're always gone by morning.

In the house, Franky is a really good boy. He doesn't chew things up, doesn't poop in the house, and is happy finding a cozy little spot where he feels safe. His current favorite sleeping spot is tucked away in his foster parents' closet.

Franky probably won't fall in love with you during the first five minutes of a meet and greet-and that's okay. He's the kind of dog whose love you earn a little at a time. Give him space, patience, and the chance to feel safe, and you'll get to watch that nervous little Yorkie turn into the guy who comes running when you walk through the door.

His foster family says if they could keep him, they would. Now Franky just needs someone willing to give him the time he needs to realize he's home.
