Hi neighbors
I wanted to share something a little different today.
I recently met an 8-year-old Yorkie named Cuddles, and I learned something that honestly surprised me.
She’s diabetic.
And before you scroll past thinking “that sounds like too much”… I thought the same thing.
But here’s what I saw:
She’s calm, gentle, and completely used to her routine.
She eats twice a day, and at those same times (9am and 9pm), she gets a very small insulin shot with her meal.
That’s it.
No stress, no struggle — she barely even notices it.
I think a lot of us hear the word “diabetic” and assume it’s complicated or overwhelming, but in reality it’s just consistency.
She’s a really sweet little dog who just wants a quiet home, a soft place to land, and someone kind.
If anyone has ever had experience with a diabetic dog, I’d love to hear your thoughts or tips — I’m learning more about it and it’s been eye-opening.
Feel free to message me if you’re curious or want to know more about her.
