Hi, I’m Jalapeño—a 9-pound Yorkie with a spicy name and a spicy personality to match!

I’m not the kind of dog who believes every stranger is a friend. In fact, I take my job as a "stranger danger" specialist very seriously. New people need to earn my trust, and I prefer to get to know them from a comfortable distance first. If someone pushes my boundaries before we're friends, I may let them know I'm not ready yet.

Now for the important part: the key to my heart is food! 🍗 Treats are my love language. I’m very food motivated and will happily take snacks from your hand. Just don't assume we're best friends after one cookie! I might take the treat and then go right back to acting like I’ve never met you before. Trust takes me a little longer than snacks do.

Once I decide you're one of my people, though, you'll see a completely different dog. Give me a few days to settle in, and I'll happily let you carry me around like a baby, cuddle up beside you, and become your loyal little shadow. The people I trust get to see my sweet, affectionate side.

One thing that comes naturally to me? Loving other dogs! I adore canine friends and enjoy their company much more quickly than I warm up to humans.
