Chanel is a beautiful 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who was rescued from a puppy mill. She has spent most of her life believing that people are scary, and she is still learning that the world can be a safe place.
Chanel is extremely timid. People, noises, fast movements, and sudden motion can all make her feel unsafe. If you’re looking for a cuddly, outgoing dog who immediately wants attention, Chanel is probably not the right match.
Because Chanel was never properly socialized with other dogs, she does not like other dogs and needs to be the only dog in her home. She needs a quiet environment where she doesn’t have to worry about interacting with other pets.
Chanel is going to require a lot of patience, commitment, and work. She may make incredible progress, or she may always be an extremely timid dog. We simply cannot promise what her journey will look like. What we can promise is that she deserves someone willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe.
She does very well with routine and loves spending time outside soaking up the sunshine. Because she is a flight risk, a securely fenced yard is a must.
Chanel would do best with older children who understand that she needs patience, space, and gentle interactions.
Chanel isn’t going to be an “average” dog, and that’s okay. She needs someone who will celebrate the little victories, respect her boundaries, and love her for exactly who she is.
Chanel needs a very special person who is ready to commit to her journey.
All of our dogs come up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines, are microchipped, and spayed/neutered.
