Shimmer Shine – Tiny, Sweet, and Full of Love

Shimmer Shine is an 8-pound Yorkie mix with a gentle soul and a surprisingly playful side. She’ll be turning 9 in November 2026, and she’s already mastered the art of being the perfect little companion.

Shimmer’s story is one of loyalty and love. She was surrendered by a family member after her owner passed away following an extended illness. Through it all, Shimmer stayed faithfully by her side until the very end. Now, she’s ready to find a new person to love just as deeply.

She is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and has a dental scheduled in May to keep her feeling her best. She has soft, wavy fur.

Shimmer absolutely adores people. Her favorite place is in your arms, soaking up attention and giving that sweet, content little gaze. She’s quiet (not much of a barker!) and has a goofy, playful personality that really shines once she’s comfortable. Soft toys are her favorite, and she’ll happily entertain herself or bring them over to show off.

When it comes to other animals, Shimmer is pretty indifferent. She could likely live with another calm, respectful dog, but she’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only. At this stage in her life, she’s mostly focused on her humans.

She loves food (a lot!) and is currently eating soft food. We are also working on her potty habits, and she’s already making progress. Given her past, we believe she may not have been taken outside consistently for some time, so she’ll need a patient adopter to continue helping her succeed.

Because of her small size and age, a home without small children is recommended to keep her safe and comfortable.

Shimmer Shine is the definition of a little dog with a big heart. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who just wants to be close to you, she may be your perfect match.

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.

3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page. Be sure to complete all fields.

4. Save the application to your computer, then attach in an email and send to petprojectnc@gmail.com

5. Someone will review your application as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, and will be in touch with next steps.

Originating from England, these affectionate and intelligent dogs make wonderful companions for individuals and families alike. With a weight of around 7 pounds, Yorkies are portable and adaptable, thriving in both city apartments and rural settings. Despite their small size, they possess a bold and confident nature, always ready for fun and adventure.
