Some dogs chase balls.
Some dogs chase squirrels.
Milo chases emotional security... and also occasionally a toy, a shadow, or absolutely nothing at all.
At about 4 years old and 55 pounds, this yellow Lab mix is equal parts sweet soul, toy enthusiast, and delightful little nutcase.
Milo does have some separation anxiety, but it improves as he learns that his person always comes back. Once he feels safe, his personality really starts to shine...and that personality is wonderfully goofy.
He thrives on routine. Predictability helps him relax and feel secure. Around the house, hes generally calm and happy to lounge nearby like your slightly awkward but very loyal roommate.
But when its time to go outside? Milo performs his signature awkward little trot-bark routine a slightly bouncy, slightly weird celebration lap that is equal parts enthusiasm and mild confusion. He enjoys a little toy time, barks at whatever is moving past his space, gets his fresh air, and then proudly heads back inside for a well-earned nap.
He is housebroken for the most part but he does best with frequent potty breaks and a consistent schedule. He walks nicely on leash and really enjoys his yard time.
Milo gets along well with other dogs and loves playing with them as long as there is no food involved. Hes not looking for trouble and doesnt start fights... but if another dog threatens him, Milo is prepared to channel Rocky Balboa and defend his snacks with great enthusiasm. Managed feeding situations keep everything peaceful. He currently lives peacefully with 5 furry roommates, including a pug that likes to annoy him in some fashion on a daily basis.
Milo is quirky. Milo is funny. Milo keeps life interesting.
He is a counter surfer and knows he isn't supposed to do it. He waits for that perfect moment when he knows you aren't looking and will grab and go. And his sweet and innocent appearance will gaslight you into thinking you are the crazy one. He needs a VERY special person who understands that trust takes time, routine builds confidence, and sometimes the best dogs are the ones who have a slight bit of psychopath in their DNA.
Once he knows hes home for good, Milo bonds deeply and becomes incredibly devoted. He doesnt just want a home, he wants his person.
And whoever that person is? Theyre going to adore this weird little guy because he will make them laugh every day with his quirky antics.
