Hi, I'm Stanley. When I was found in the desert with my brothers, people and leashes were pretty scary things to me. The world felt big and unfamiliar, and I wasn't sure who I could trust. I've made a lot of progress since then, but I'm still learning, and I need someone who understands that becoming brave doesn't happen overnight. Every new experience is a chance for me to discover that maybe things aren't so frightening after alland that the people who care about me don't have to disappear.
Here's the thing about me: once I decide you're safe, I become a completely different boy. All that uncertainty starts to melt away, and suddenly I'm looking for affection, sticking close to my favorite people, and soaking up all the love I've been missing. I might never be the social butterfly who greets every stranger with a wagging tail, and that's okay! I just need a patient person who will let me build trust at my own pace and celebrate the little victories along the way. I would likely enjoy having another friendly dog around, but kids make me nervous, and we don't know how I feel about cats yet. If you have a quiet home, a kind heart, and the patience to let a shy boy discover what it means to belong, I think we could build something really special together.
