Hi, I'm Reina! My name is Spanish for queen. My name was picked after the nice people who took me in realized that I was veryyyy pregnant with some sweet puppies (The Fruita Streets Litter!). I have lived up to that name in my foster home being the center of attention when I'm hungry or when I want snuggles or alone time (because I'm caring for a DOZEN babies). With my puppies starting to wean and headed for independence, I am ready to be my own woman again and find my forever home. The shelter told my foster that I pull on walks, but I've never done that with my martingale collar and I walk like an angel! I absolutely adore pets from everyone I meet and when I really desire head scratches or belly rubs, I have a sassy groan to convince my foster mom to love on me. She is always happy to comply since I'm a wonderful dog, fully potty trained and house trained as I never get into her laundry or other human nonsense. I enjoy sunbathing, even in these hot June days, so I often use the doggy door to be independent. I don't dig holes or get into anything outside other than the sunshine, so I'm trusted by my foster mom to get outside on my own.
I do like to protect my new home, so I do bark back at the neighbor dog through fences or loud trucks, sometimes even when I'm in the house even though I'm told not to - it's just so instinctual to protect the home! At night, I sometimes snuggle in the bed, but I mostly prefer my alone time. My foster mom hasn't yet tried to crate me since I need to care for my puppies 24/7, but she suspects I will do well. I have two nosey foster brothers that I really like, but I have had to give them momma growls to make sure they didn't come near my whelping box, babies, or my food but when my hormones tell me it is safe, I play with them or snuggle them at my leisure. I haven't had much of a chance to go on many adventures, but I do really great in the car when I do get to go for a ride!
