With his adorable little faux hawk and soulful eyes, Mohawk is impossible to forget. His unique hairstyle may grab your attention, but its his gentle heart that will steal it.

Mohawk was found as a stray. Hes still learning that people can be kind, gentle, and loving. While hes a little timid at first, every day he grows a little braver as he discovers the comfort of a warm bed, full meals, and a home where hes safe.

Once he trusts you, you'll find an incredibly sweet little companion who just wants someone to love him. All Mohawk needs is a patient family willing to help him continue building his confidence. Mohawk would be great in a home that will show him the world is not scary, but at his pace.

*We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.

*Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.

*Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.

*Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

*All of our adopters are invited to join our Alum Pupdates Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!

The Wirehaired Terrier is a charming and energetic dog breed known for its shaggy coat and lively personality. Originating from terriers bred for hunting small game, they are intelligent, spirited, and make loyal companions. Their wiry coat requires regular grooming to prevent matting, and they thrive on ample exercise and mental stimulation. With proper training and socialization, Wirehaired Terriers can be excellent family pets, excelling in activities such as agility and obedience.
