Rounding out the trio of Wire Fox Terrier brothers from Georgia relinquished from their breeder – Say Hello to STANLEY. Like the brothers he was born October 17, 2016. He was 13.8 pounds on arrival, emaciated and you can feel his bones, probably the runt of the litter. I just love this little guy – I seem to gravitate to the underdogs. He is so tiny but very spunky - he jumps around like baby goat, jumping in the air for attention. He loves people, being with you and lonely for companionship and gives kisses and licks with gratitude. He reminds me of Feefers but with no attitude and is simply the sweetest. Full of so much energy and waited for so long to live life to the fullest and pain free. Stanley loves to rub himself all over a brand new fur blanket and loves the feel as he snuggles in. Stanley had his surgeries last Thursday, neuter and full dental and needed his upper canine root removed as it was broken off. He also had a tinge of blood in his belly band and had radiographs done to check for bladder stones and thankfully there were none. Stanley also had a large mass on his lower back removed going farther out to get clean margins. This was sent off for biopsy. Stanley has a Grade 4 out of 6 heart murmur which needs investigating and we go Wednesday to see Dr. Luethy at MedVet Chicago. This little boy puts a smile on my face in the reality of their sad situation and how they had to live. So while the other boys faired very well with their recovery and vet work and such wonderful Wires, looks like Stan the Man will be here in Chicago for a bit until he finishes his medical treatment. His AKC registered name is Warwyre’s Click Click Boom and that is what you get when he enters the room. It’s all about Stanley. Who would not fall in love with that little face!

STANLEY went to see Dr. Luethy at MedVet Chicago on September 23 for a full cardiology consult with testing. He was diagnosed with Stage B2 degenerative valve disease with moderate mitral valve regurgitation. Doctor said as he got older this progressed and he is over the cusp and should be on medication which he was prescribed Vetmedin (pimobendan). He could live a fuller life and this gives him an added benefit.
The biopsy report finally returned for the lump on Stanley’s back which was removed during surgery. It was a Hemangioma which is a common subcutaneous benign vascular neoplasm. Complete excision is expected to be curative. Good to go for Stanley.
