Maddie is a 10-year-old female Westie who was surrendered to our rescue after her previous owner could no longer care for her. Please note that Maddie is a special needs dog: she is diabetic and also has cataracts that affect her vision. But none of that stops her from wanting to be near her people. She is incredibly sweet, loving, and happiest when she's curled up beside you.
Maddie is currently being fostered in Raleigh, NC and has two doggy siblings. She gets along well with other dogs, but would also be fine in a home as an only dog. Maddie isn't overly affectionate, but she likes to follow her foster parents from room to room and snuggle up on a dog bed nearby.
Maddie would thrive in a calm home with someone who is retired or works from home and can give her the companionship and consistency she needs. She's a quiet dog who likes to sunbathe outside in the backyard and lives for her daily walks! Going on walks is her favorite part of the day :)
Please note the following requirements to adopt Maddie:
- Fully enclosed fenced yard
- No children under 10 living in the home or frequently visiting
- Financially able and comfortable giving insulin injections
- Within 3.5 hours driving distance from Raleigh, NC
