Meet Bailey — A Gentle, Loving Tibetan Terrier Seeking Her Perfect Adults-Only Home
❤️ About Bailey
Bailey is a stunning, petite tri-color Tibetan Terrier with soulful eyes, soft fur, and the most heart-melting way of showing affection: when she sees someone she loves, her whole backside does an adorable circular tail-wag dance. She’s incredibly sweet, deeply loving, and happiest when she can curl up right next to you — on the couch, in your lap, or sleeping peacefully at the foot of your bed.
She is a calm, gentle companion who wants nothing more than to be near her person. Her love language is roast chicken.
If you’ve been hoping for a dog who makes your home feel warm, cozy, and full of quiet companionship, Bailey may be your girl.
🏡 Why She Is Being Rehomed
Bailey is deeply loved by her current family and has no history of trauma or prior homes. This decision is being made with tremendous care and heartbreak, solely because Bailey is not suited for a home with children. She is not aggressive — not even a little. She simply becomes nervous and cowers away, and the busy environment that comes with young children is overwhelming for her (we have toddlers at home).
Her family wants her to find the peaceful, steady, adults-only home where she will feel truly safe, relaxed, and happy every day.
💛 Bailey’s Ideal Home
Bailey thrives with adults who are home often and enjoy having a dog nearby. Her perfect family will be:
- Adults-only (no young children)
- A household where someone works from home or is around most of the day
(Note: Taking her to work every day may be a viable option as well, she is a decent office dog)
- People who want a cuddle-oriented, calm, affectionate companion
- A home that is ok with an un-crated dog (Bailey sleeps wonderfully in the bed, and does not enjoy being crated for long periods)
- A family committed to feeding only her GI-appropriate food, taking her to get groomed regularly, and maintaining her routine
- She is friendly and appropriate with other dogs, and does fine with friendly, non-aggressive dogs (and, we assume, cats). She’s gentle, avoids conflict, and reads other animals’ signals well.
🐾 Personality & Daily Life with Bailey
- Calm, sweet, loving, gentle — her default mode is “cozy companion.”
- Loves cuddles, belly rubs, and curling up right next to you.
- Enjoys a 15–40 minute walk several times a week and walks well on leash (including dog walkers).
- Adores hanging out in an armchair watching the world through the window.
- Sleeps peacefully at the foot of your bed all night.
- House-trained — as long as she is given a chance to go out every ~4-6 hours during the day, she does great.
- Eats a sensitive-stomach diet twice daily and does well as long as she sticks to her specific food.
- She’s a phenomenal car-traveller, and would be happy to accompany you on road trips.
- Bailey is a “shadow dog” in the most loving way — never intrusive, always gentle, always ready to snuggle.
🩺 Health & 💵 Financial Support
Bailey is healthy overall but sensitive to dietary changes — if she eats foods outside her normal diet, she can develop GI upset. She also has an established veterinarian in Kirkwood who knows her history well.
Her baseline costs are estimated as follows:
HealthyPaws health insurance - $116/month
FYI – her insurance covers 70% of vet/med costs after $250 annual deductible
Grooming - $80/month
Specialty GI-sensitive Food - $45/month
Preventative meds (flea/heartworm/etc.) - $30/month
Budget for vet care (includes prescriptions, vaccines, tests) - $500/year
Total = $3,872 annual baseline cost
Due to rising costs in all areas of pet ownership and inflation, owning a dog today has become a major financial commitment - no matter how healthy or easy the dog is. In order to adopt Bailey, you must feel confident that you can afford a $4,000 annual commitment towards her well-being.
That being said, her current family wants the right adopters — not necessarily the wealthiest ones. To ensure that Bailey’s medical needs never become a barrier:
💙 We can help take care of Bailey’s unexpected veterinary needs down the road if needed.
If a perfect adopter is a wonderful match but would struggle with unexpected medical costs (beyond your $4,000 annual budget for her), her current family is willing to assist financially if needed. The priority is Bailey’s long-term happiness and stability.
📝 Adoption Process
To ensure the perfect match, Bailey’s family will require:
- A brief application
- A phone interview
- A home visit for safety and comfort
- A trial period — if Bailey ends up not being an ideal fit for you, we are happy to take her back with no issues, and seek out a new placement.
🌈 If Bailey Sounds Like Your Perfect Companion…
Please reach out. Her family loves her deeply and will miss her, but be relieved to know she has found a calm, child-free, stable home where she can flourish. Bailey has so much love to give — and she’s ready to be someone’s deeply devoted little shadow.
She will reward her new family with gentle cuddles, funny bed-flops, soulful eyes, and that unforgettable circular tail wag that feels like she is saying, “You’re my person.”
