Meet Shirley Manson, a 10-year-old Pit Bull Terrier whose story is written all over her frail little body.

She came to us as a stray... severely underweight, hungry, tired, and searching for something no dog should ever have to search for—food, safety, and kindness.

Its impossible not to wonder...

Who did she belong to?
Who watched her grow from a playful puppy into a sweet senior girl?
How did she end up spending her golden years wandering alone, wondering where her next meal would come from?

Well probably never know.

What we do know is that Shirley is one of the gentlest souls you'll ever meet. Despite everything shes been through, she still looks at people with hope in her eyes. She still believes someone will be kind to her.

At 10 years old, Shirley doesn't need excitement or adventure.

She needs groceries.
She needs a soft bed.
She needs gentle hands to tell her shes finally safe.
She needs a family who will love her for however much time she has left.

None of us know how many tomorrows we are promised—not even Shirley. But we can make sure that every tomorrow she has is filled with love instead of loneliness.

During the BISSELL Pet Foundation Empty the Shelters event, her adopting fee is waived. The regular adoption fee is $90 dollars.
