Oscar - Terrier and Poodle Dog for Adoption in Redondo Beach, California

Meet Oscar, a 1.5 yo poodle/terrier mix, he is taller than a poodle and about 17lbs. Oscar was dealt a bad card in his early life where he was kept in a backyard, under socialized and fearful of new people. Oscar was dumped in South LA Shelter with his brother who was adopted. Oscar was left behind. He was much more calm after his brother was gone. We rescued Oscar and learned pretty quickly that he was shy and didn't have a lot of experience with being inside.

We've taught him crate training and working with him on leash walks. He's doing much better but will need to continue training. Oscar has had a 2 week boot camp style board and train with Humble K9 in Chino, CA and did extremely well.

He has grown protective over his human, that is foster mom right now. So Oscar will need an experienced owner, someone who values dog training and can invest time in him to help train him to have more confidence. We laid the groundwork and are now looking for a kind person or couple who can continue that work.

We believe Oscar had very low confidence when we rescued him, now he has a little bit more but still will need to build more confidence with his new trustworthy person.

Oscar is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, he is healthy and cute as a button.
