Say hello to Poppy, a charming terrier mix who is approximately 1-2 years old and weighs a whopping 10 pounds of pure adorableness! Her most impressive feature? Those magnificent satellite ears, of course—the bigger to hear you with! Whether you're opening a snack wrapper from across the room or whispering sweet compliments, Poppy is already tuned in.
Poppy's journey hasn't been the easiest. She arrived at the shelter after being abandoned by her owner, but this little lady refuses to let that define her story. She can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but give her a little patience, a few kind words, and perhaps some gentle pampering, and she'll happily soak up all the love and attention you have to offer.
One of Poppy's favorite activities is strolling through the park near the shelter. She enjoys taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of the great outdoors while dreaming about the day she'll have a family of her very own to explore with.
Because of her petite size, Poppy would do best with older children who can appreciate her delicate frame and gentle nature. Her compatibility with other dogs and cats is currently unknown.
Poppy is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can welcome her home right away while she completes her routine veterinary care with our shelter veterinarian. This includes her spay surgery, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and microchip—everything she needs to start her next chapter healthy, happy, and loved.
If you're ready to open your heart and home to this tiny girl with the oversized ears and even bigger potential, please email us and submit an online dog adoption application for Poppy. Poppy's adoption fee is $200. Poppy is listening closely... could she be hearing the sound of her forever family?
