Boris aka Jake is about 8-1/2 yrs old and currently weighs about 26 lbs. (about 6 lbs overweight) Unfortunately, came into a shelter as a stray so we have no back history, more will be known about me soon.
FROM HIS FOSTER: Boris (or Jake, depending on who you ask!) is an 8–9-year-old terrier mix with a heart as big as his personality. Weighing in at about 26 pounds (with a goal of getting him to a healthier 20–22), he recently found himself looking for a new beginning after the tragic loss of his person. Despite that, he hasn’t lost an ounce of his joy; his tail is almost always wagging, and he carries a light, happy energy that’s hard not to love.
He’s the kind of dog that will settle in quickly and make himself at home immediately with the right family. Boris thrives on being around people and is always ready to greet anyone with a wag (he does bark at strangers/other dogs, but it’s only to make sure you see them, and his barks quickly turn to wiggles instead). He loves walks, riding in the car, and is such a laid-back, relaxed guy that you don’t have to worry about him when you leave the house for a bit. He gets along with and enjoys being around other dogs (his foster bro is a 95 lbs. Lab), but he isn't really into rough-housing, and would do fine being a one-and-only, too.
Boris also has a charming “talkative” side. When he’s excited or content, he’ll let out little howls or bays that are more endearing than noisy. He is happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing. He would do best in a quieter home, ideally with older children or no children, where he can feel safe and settled. Boris is a big fan of cuddles and would love a home where couch and bed snuggles are part of the routine. With a bit of continued confidence-building and a whole lot of love, he’s going to be an incredibly loyal, affectionate companion for someone ready to give him the forever home he deserves.
