Dinkum is a loving little sweetheart who is ready to find his forever family. He absolutely loves being with his people and has become a social butterfly with women, men, dogs, and cats.
Dinkum is a young, active guy with plenty of energy to burn! He is FAST and would love a fenced-in yard where he can safely run, zoom, and get that youngster energy out. Fetch is his absolute favorite activity, and he enjoys toys, too. He's not much of a dog-bed guy, though--he'd much rather lounge in a chair or curl up on the human bed.
This handsome boy was clearly puppy-pad trained and has been incredibly consistent. He has had no pee or poop accidents outside of his pads, and he even squats with great aim! A fenced yard will be important as he learns to transition from pads to grass.
Dinkum is a grazer who enjoys all kinds of treats and loves pumpkin. He has no food-resource issues and is happy to share his space around food.
He is a total Velcro boy who loves to be with you--and preferably ON you! He is learning that he doesn't always have to be physically touching his person, but he still loves sleeping right next to you all night and won't budge until you do. ❤️
He is wonderfully cooperative for his care. Nail trims? No problem. Cleaning the gunk from his eyes? No fuss at all. He knows "no," "stay," and is working on "no bark," "sit," and "down." He can be a little stubborn and may test the limits of his "stay" from time to time, so his adopter will need to continue working with him using patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.
One of Dinkum's biggest challenges is being confined. He does not like being shut in a carrier or closed into a room. He will need a family willing to work gently with him and help him feel safe.
Dinkum is a fun, affectionate, energetic boy who wants to be part of his person's life. He needs a family who will give him exercise, structure, patience, and lots of love--and who doesn't mind sharing their furniture and bed with a very devoted little shadow.
Dinkum is looking for a fenced-in yard, an active family, and a forever home that will continue helping him grow into the best boy he can be. Could that be you?
We believe Dinkum to be around 3 years old and weighs a little under 6 pounds.
