MEET VALERIE, one of 8o+ dogs who are getting a second chance:

1 year old female Terrier mix, 27 lbs. Timid but very sweet-- she will sit on your lap and soak up the love. She does not know how to walk on a leash yet.

VALERIE is one of 80+ dogs and puppies we recently rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. They were living in a filthy, overcrowded house, struggling to find enough food. They were never allowed to go outdoors. Many arrived with scars, wounds, and years of neglect behind them.

And yet, despite everything they've been through, these dogs have shown us just how resilient they are. Every one of them is sweet-natured and eager to experience something they've been missing for far too long: feeling loved and safe.

Our staff and volunteers have been busy giving them warm baths, gentle cuddles, lots of affection—and most importantly, a safe place to finally feel cared for. Some are still very timid, but even the shyest dogs find comfort in being held and loved.

Thankfully, many have found foster homes with us or with our rescue partners. But about 30 dogs are still waiting at our shelter for a foster or forever home.

They've already survived the worst. Now, they deserve the chance to know what it feels like to be safe, loved and part of a family.

ADOPTING A DOG
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).

If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.

We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
