Sometimes life changes in ways no one could ever prepare for.

Years ago, Tootie found her forever home after being adopted from The Haven. She spent years surrounded by love, companionship, and the comfort every dog deserves. Sadly, after her beloved owner passed away and the remaining family member could no longer care for her, Tootie has found herself searching for a family once again.

While her story has changed, Tootie certainly hasn't.

At 12–13 years young, this sweet Shih Tzu mix still greets each day with a happy heart, a wagging tail, and an enthusiasm for simply being with her people. She doesn't act like an old dog—she acts like a dog who still has so much love left to give.

For Tootie, home isn't a place.

It's a person.

THE FUN SIDE

Despite being a senior, Tootie still has a youthful spirit and enjoys being part of whatever you're doing.

She loves following her favorite people from room to room, always curious about what comes next.

Whether you're watching television, working from home, reading a book, or relaxing on the porch, Tootie is happiest simply being included.

She enjoys leisurely walks, exploring the yard, and greeting new friends with her cheerful personality.

She has wonderful house manners and already understands what it means to be part of a family.

Most of all, she loves life's simple pleasures—a comfy bed, a cozy blanket, and being close to the people she loves.

Tootie is the definition of a companion dog.

She isn't looking for constant excitement.

She'll happily curl up beside you on the couch, nap near your feet while you work, or quietly follow you from room to room just because being near you is where she feels safest.
