Here’s the thing about me: once you’re in, you’re IN. And trust me, you’ll know when you’ve made the cut because my happy little tail will give me away every time.

I’m a Jack Russell Terrier with plenty of personality, and I’ll admit—I like to take a minute to decide what I think about new people. I might greet you with a few barks because, well... somebody has to announce your arrival. Give me a proper introduction, don’t rush me, and let me figure you out at my own pace.

My name is Bensen when we first meet. Once you’ve earned your way into my inner circle? You can call me Benny, Big Ben, Bensen Boy... whatever you want. But you’ve gotta earn nickname privileges around here. ??

Once I realize you’re one of the good ones? Congratulations. You’ve got yourself a new best friend—and that happy little tail will make sure you know it.

With my people, I’m a total lovebug. I’ll curl up in your lap, hang out by your side, and I’m even happy to snuggle up with you at bedtime. I’ve got plenty of energy when it’s time to play—especially if squeaky toys are involved—but I also know how to settle down and enjoy a cozy night at home.

I’m housebroken AND crate trained, I patiently wait for my dinner, and I take treats very nicely. I love going for walks too, although I’m still learning that walks are supposed to be a team activity and not just me choosing the speed.

I currently live with other dogs and get along with them, but if you asked me? I wouldn’t complain about being your one and only and getting all that attention for myself.

Basically, I’m a pretty easy little guy once you get to know me. I’m not asking you to win me over in five seconds—I’m just asking you to give me a minute.

(4) Have valid ID with current address;
(5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home; and
(6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only)
