Edith & Henry - Terrier Dog Available for Adoption

Edith and Henry 💜 Bonded pair. Dog, kid, and cat friendly. Both are great on leash and each about 10-15 lbs.

"Edith is guessed to be a mix between a Norfolk and a Cairn terrier. Henry is guessed to be a mix of or one of the following: shih tzu, schnoodle, or schnauzer mix. Both are estimated to be 2-3 years old. These two dogs came in to the rescue as a pair, but were originally surrendered to Fort Worth Humane Society, with a bunch of other backyard dogs that were similar in size/breed. Once I saw them, I couldn’t let them stay at the rescue. Henry’s fur was matted and long and blocking his eyesight. neither dog were trusting of humans. Bryn and I had to trap Henry to get him into a crate for me to take home. They’ve been in a home with me in foster since Feb. 25, 2025. They’ve both completely blossomed and become social dogs. They are still a little weary of strangers, but long for love and affection. A treat and a “good girl or good boy” goes a long way with them. They both love other small dogs and love to play with them. They mostly love to play with each other. Henry is more likely to play with another dog than Edith is. Edith mostly only plays with Henry. Although as you can see in some of the videos, she loves to love on other dogs as well! Commands or phrases they know are: Are you hungry?; Are you ready?; Leave it; Let’s go; No; Treat; Want to go potty/want to go outside?. They are potty trained & also know how to use puppy pads. They are small dog friendly and social. However, they’re both very scared of big dogs. They can be around big dogs, so long as they are left alone. So they are able to coexist, but will not bond or play with a big dog. It is safe to say that these two will need some time to get used to their new people and new home, but they do warm up. As long as they feel safe, I have no doubt that they are going to thrive. They’ve already come such a long way since the day I met them."
