1 year old female Terrier and Jack Russell mix, about 13 pounds. Rihan (pronounced like Rihanna without the “na”) is a super sweet girl who loves her people wholeheartedly. She attaches quickly and loves being close to her humans. She’s happy hanging out in her bed on the couch or snuggling in your lap. She loves going for walks, although she can occasionally be a little reactive on leash. True to her Terrier heritage, she would love nothing more than to chase every squirrel or crow we come across! She is crate-trained at night and while we’re away from home, but she would much prefer to sleep in bed with her humans. She is also excellent in the car. Rihan takes a little time to warm up to new people and dogs. She can be a bit selective about who she allows into her circle, but once she’s comfortable, she’s wonderful. She has made it very clear, however, that she does not like being around children. For that reason, she needs a home without kids or grandkids. Rihan could be happy with a suitable canine companion or as an only dog. Once she’s comfortable with another dog, she loves to play—especially zoomies and chasing balls. And if you’re a fan of squeaky toys, you’re in luck, because Rihan certainly is! She loves to eat and will happily enjoy just about anything we give her. She’s also very agile and a good jumper, so a secure 6-foot fence is a must for her new home. Rihan is looking for a quieter home where she can relax and feel secure. She does fine with smaller gatherings, although we’re not sure how she would feel about larger parties. She truly is a doll, and we absolutely love having her in our home. We know she’ll make a wonderful companion for the right person or family who understands her quirks and gives her the time she needs to feel comfortable and loved. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments.
