In the past, every day in a shelter, someone walked past Scotty.
Maybe it was because he’s a black dog. Black dogs are overlooked more than any other, lost in the shadows of a kennel. Maybe it was because he’s a senior, and most people hurry past the gray muzzle looking for a puppy.
So Scotty waited. And waited. For far too long.
Then he came to a loving home with a foster family, and everything changed.
Scotty learned that a crate can be a cozy bed, and he trots in for a treat. He learned that squeaky toys are the best thing ever invented. He learned that he’s allowed to follow his person from room to room just to be close. He even found a four-legged friend to share it all with. And on leash walks, he’s doing great.
He’s sweet. He’s loyal. He’s housebroken. And he’s still cautious with new people at first, because he’s spent a long time waiting for someone to choose him.
The odds were stacked against Scotty. But he’s still here, still wagging, and still ready to love with his whole heart.
All he needs is one person to see what everyone else missed. Just to give him the chance!
Could that be you?
