Fiona - Terrier and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Canaan, New Hampshire

Meet Fiona! She's about 2.5 to 3 years old and a very manageable 43lbs. She came to us from our SC shelter partner, after being in the shelter since March. She's spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

She has not had any accidents inside since being here, and lays quietly in her kennel, quite content to chew on all her new bones and toys, even when other dogs are being loud. She seems very adaptable! When we picked her up from transport, she was friendly and happy, with the personality of "okay, let's go! what are we doing next?"

She's been quiet, only barking when trying to engage in play with another dog through the kennel. She did well in the shelter playgroups with other dogs. As soon as our required quarantine period is up, we'll get her out playing here too.

She's playful and really wants to run! She would love an active adopter where she can go on adventures.

She's learning about not counter-surfing and jumping, and is already quickly picking up that if she sits next to me with her feet on the ground instead, she'll get a treat. She doesn't seem used to being on a leash and it's sometimes a bit like flying an erratic kite. But we'll work on that!
