Say hello to little Artie! This 4‑year‑old, 20‑pound terrier mix has had a rough start to life, but he’s finally getting the chance to shine. Artie was surrendered locally to a shelter, and when he arrived, he was in tough shape. He was covered in fleas and missing a lot of hair, but with care and time, his coat has been coming in beautifully. He’s turning into quite the handsome little guy. Artie does receive drops for dry eyes and may need to continue them, but he’s a champ about it.
Artie loves to play in the yard with his foster siblings and fetches a ball like a pro. He enjoys his little stuffies and will happily snuggle next to you on the couch, though he has a special love for his dog bed. He is crate trained but has the run of the house when his family is home. Artie does have a sensitive tummy — and yes, he can clear a room! He doesn’t get people food, but he does enjoy mealtime and uses a slow feeder to help pace himself.
He enjoys going for walks and is learning not to pull so much. His foster mom calls him Houdini because he can find the smallest space to squeeze through and explore. For that reason, if Artie has a yard of his own, it must be fully fenced and absolutely secure. He would also do well in an apartment as long as he gets regular walks and exercise.
Artie is a fun, sweet, playful little guy who’s ready for a fresh start. If you think Artie might be the perfect fit for your home, apply today!
Artie is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, tested neg. for heartworm and flea treated and dewormed. His adoption fee is $475
