Daisy here - hey! My foster Mama is very proud of me: "Meet a girl who finally got her second chance.
This sweet 9-year-old Rat Terrier has spent most of her life watching the world from the outside--literally. She lived on a farm, often in a garage, without the comfort, consistency, and love every dog deserves. Since coming into foster care in January, she's been learning what it truly means to be part of a home... and she's come so far.
She's now kennel-trained, leash-trained, and understands many house routines. She does well going potty outside when let out regularly, though she's still learning how to tell her humans when she needs to go. With patience and consistency, she continues to improve every day.
"Her journey hasn't been without challenges. Coming from a life of isolation, she learned to rely only on herself--which means she prefers to be the only pet in the home. She likes being the "top dog" and hasn't always been kind to other animals. Because of her past and some unpredictability early on, she's also looking for a home without children.
"When she first entered foster care, she struggled with discomfort and would occasionally snap. But once her pain was addressed and she began taking medication, everything started to change. With structure, trust, and feeling physically better, she now rarely shows those behaviors and has built strong bonds with her foster dad and the adults she trusts.
"And underneath it all? She's a lover. A quiet companion. A dog who simply wants to be close to her people and soak up affection. She's looking for a calm, low-activity home--ideally with a single person or a couple--who can continue to give her the stability and understanding she's finally found. She will need ongoing pain management as part of her care, but in return, she'll give you her loyalty, her heart, and her gentle companionship.
She didn't always have a chance to be this dog--but she is now. Could you be the one to give her the peaceful, loving home she deserves?"
