Here’s Your Quick Peek:
Cocoa is a gentle, sensitive Standard Poodle who came to CPR as a breeder release and has made beautiful progress over the past year. She lived in a loving home where she learned to walk on a leash, became more social, and started following her people around for comfort. She was returned to rescue after serious life changes, but the growth she made there continues to shine through.
Must have: calm home, patient adopter, predictable routine
Exercise: medium — gentle play, exploring, and time outdoors
Best with: adults, homes with a friendly dog (helpful but not required)
Not ideal for: loud or chaotic environments; homes expecting instant confidence
Energy level: medium — gentle, curious, affectionate
Cocoa is still shy in new environments and needs time to adjust, but once she feels safe, she becomes affectionate, observant, and quietly playful. She enjoys companionship and heavily benefits from having another friendly, confident dog in the home — though she does not require one. Cocoa is a sweet, gentle soul who blossoms with patience. She loves running with dog friends, following her people, and learning at her own pace.
Good with dogs: yes — heavily benefits from a confident companion
Good with kids: older teens only
Cats: Unknown - Will be tested.
Fun fact: Cocoa’s favorite thing is running full‑speed with her dog friends — but she also loves quietly shadowing her person once she feels safe.
Potential Adopters
Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them.
