MONTREAL, QC - Some dogs arrive in rescue because they were never loved. Stark is not one of those dogs.
For the first several years of his life, Stark was a cherished family companion. He adored his people and happily settled into family life. Then, little by little, his world began to change. A devastating house fire forced the family from their home, routines were disrupted, and Stark found himself living in unfamiliar places with unfamiliar people. When the family eventually returned home, life looked very different. The children grew up, schedules became busier, and Stark spent more and more time alone.
As the years passed, walks became rare and his world shrank to the confines of the house and a small outdoor space. For a dog who thrives on companionship and connection, it was a difficult adjustment. Stark struggled with the changes around him and began showing signs of anxiety and frustration. To their credit, his family recognized that they could no longer provide the life he needed and made the difficult decision to ask SPIN for help.
Since arriving in foster care, Stark has shown us exactly who he is: a loving, affectionate, people-oriented dog with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. He is learning that the world is larger than his backyard, rediscovering the joy of walks, and embracing new experiences with surprising enthusiasm. Most of all, he wants to be close to his people and be included in their lives.
