Darcie is the kind of dog who truly brings life into a room, It’s almost like she makes a space feel a little more awake. This girl is smart, affectionate, playful, and full of personality! She is fostered in a loving home where she has proven herself to be both fun, wonderfully capable, and comes “pre-programmed” with some amazing qualities. Her foster shares that she is house trained, crate trained, great in the car, and lives with a teenager, a variety of dogs, and cats. Her foster absolutely gushes over her, and honestly, meeting Darcie it is easy to see that she is the kind of girl who earns the gushing.

Darcie is estimated to be 2 years old, she weighs 46 lbs and we suspect she is a Staffie mix but of course given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee breed of birthday. We do know with confidence that she loves walks, fetch, and the very serious sport of playing in the water hose, which she surely considers helping with gardeing. She is affectionate with people and warms up quickly, greeting life with a full-body wiggle and an attentive and affectionate approach. She listens well, responds to verbal correction, and genuinely wants to understand what is being asked of her. When she gets very excited, her enthusiasm can turn into mouthiness, very natural for a dog her age, for now she would do best with older kids and a family who will help her keep practicing calm manners as she grows into an adult dog.
With other dogs, Darcie is friendly, playful, and very into the fun of play. She enjoys chase, body bumps, vocal play, and the kind of romping that says, “Yay! My new best friend!” She would love a playful dog with enough size that her playfulness will not be physically imposing. Darcie has a medium-energy play style and she does get a little vocal during play but it is all in good fun. She can be a bit eager on leash when she sees other dogs, but once introductions happen, her greetings are happy and wiggly. She also lives with cats and has done well around them, though she may try to play, so dog-savvy cats would be the best fit.
Darcie could do well in a home with a yard or an active apartment home where walks, playtime, and adventure are part of the routine. She is confident, social, affectionate, and wonderfully bright, with just enough goofy enthusiasm to keep her people smiling. For someone who wants a smart, lively, loving companion with a water-hose hobby and a heart full of wiggles, Darcie is ready to come home. Apply today!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
