Meet Ositio A Little Bear Looking for a New Den
"Ositio" means bear in Spanish, and while this handsome 5-year-old American Eskimo Spitz may be much smaller than a real bear, he has all the loyalty, devotion, and family attachment you could ask for in a companion.
Ositio has spent his entire life with one loving family and a young boy who adores him. Sadly, that child has developed allergies, and after much soul-searching, the family has made the difficult decision to find Ositio a new home where he can continue to be loved and cherished.
This fluffy white gentleman is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and well cared for. He visits the groomer every 23 months to keep his beautiful coat looking its best. He enjoys dry food and is accustomed to free-feeding.
Because Ositio has lived a fairly sheltered life as the only dog in the household, he is most comfortable with the people he knows and trusts. Like many small breeds, he takes his job as family security officer very seriously! Small dog owners will understand exactly what we meanstrangers are considered suspicious until proven otherwise by someone in the family. Once you're accepted into his inner circle, however, you'll have a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be near his people.
Ositio is used to having a fenced yard for his bathroom breaks and exercise and has not had much experience with leash walking. His ideal home would be one that understands his need for patience during transitions and will give him time to settle in and build trust at his own pace.
This is a courtesy posting, as we believe a busy shelter environment with a constant stream of volunteers and unfamiliar faces would be overwhelming for this sensitive little guy. Rather than putting him through that stress, we're hoping to find the right home directly from his current situation.
If you're looking for a devoted companion and understand that trust is something earnednot given on the first meetingOsitio may be the perfect little bear for your family.
