DESCRIPTION
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog E:3Chesapeake – Quiet, Gentle, and Blossoming Every Day
Chesapeake is a young 7-pound Spaniel mix with a gentle soul who has already made incredible progress in foster care, gaining confidence and beginning to show his sweet, affectionate personality.
Building confidence: Chesapeake now quietly comes out to observe his people. He prefers to initiate affection himself and once he feels safe, may climb into a lap on his own for comfort.
Calm and gentle: He was an exceptionally quiet companion who rarely barked and has lived peacefully with a cat and a dog in foster care, simply choosing to coexist rather than interact. He also settled calmly when left home alone.
Learning to enjoy home life: Chesapeake is discovering that gentle chin and belly scratches feel good and is beginning to explore treats and toys at his own pace. He also understands puppy pads and has done well with his potty routine.
Chesapeake will thrive with a patient adopter. In return, you’ll have the joy of watching a shy little dog transform into a devoted companion.
