DESCRIPTION
URGENT! Skylar is almost out of time at the shelter. She needs a home ASAP.
Skylar is a 2-year and 1-month-old Siberian currently being held at the Kern County Animal Services - Bakersfield Shelter. She has been at the shelter since April 21, 2026, and is ready for her new home.
Skylar participated in the shelter's Streets of Bakersfield event and her chaperone was blown away by this special girl! They had this to say about her:
This adorable ✨️pocket husky✨️ would be the perfect addition to any family. She's small and calm and seems to be good with kids. Her Corgi-like body combined with that adorable husky face is sure to turn heads. She's ready to be your wingman, companion, and best friend. 🐾
This poor girl needed a break from the shelter. It's clear how much the last 3 weeks there is scaring her and how hard that is on her gentle soul. She's a sweet girl, perfect for foster or adoption. Whether you're looking for a dog to cuddle on the couch, a dog to take with you to the bar, or a dog to go on hikes with you, she could be your girl! 🫶

ABOUT
Companion Animal Protection Services (CAPS), a national nonprofit based in Thousand Oaks, CA., partners with Kern County Animal Services in Bakersfield to find homes for at-risk dogs. The shelter has more than 300 dogs and puppies in two metal warehouses with no outdoor runs. Dogs and puppies are at high risk for euthanasia because of lack of space and too many abandoned dogs in the community.
