December - Siberian Husky and Husky Dog for Adoption in Scottsdale, Arizona

December came to us from the county shelter alongside his brother, Finral. Both boys were placed on the euthanasia list because they were too scared, which wasn’t a surprise because they had spent their entire lives in the only home they’d ever known. For dogs like December, the shelter can be an incredibly loud, overwhelming place. Time and time again, we’ve watched fearful dogs blossom once they’re safe in a loving foster home, and December has been no exception.

Once he had a chance to decompress, his true personality started to shine. December is a medium-energy boy who loves to play, whether that’s romping around with other dogs or carrying around his favorite toy monkey! When playtime is over, he’s snuggled up next to his people; he loves to be with his family!

December does well in a crate and walks nicely on leash with minimal pulling. He enjoys neighborhood walks as well as trips to the dog park to play with other large dogs. Like many dogs who have experienced big life changes, he does have some separation anxiety as he continues learning that his people always come back. The good news is he’s very responsive to gentle redirection, treats, or a squeaky toy.

December will need slow intros to a dogs in a new home since he can be a little much on his first meeting with new pups in the home – once the initial meeting is out of the way, he has shown that he will settle in well with other canine friends. He could do well in a variety of household types, active or mellow, including homes with children. He has not been cat tested. He is a very sweet boy who will make a great addition to many homes!
